Privacy Policy
O-Lab LLC (“we”, “us” or “our”) sets out this Privacy Policy (“this Policy”) to explain how we handle user information in our app “Gravity Swing” (“the App”).
This is an English translation of the Japanese original. If there is any difference between the two, the Japanese version prevails.
Article 1 (Information we collect)
1-1 Information stored on servers
The following is sent to and stored on the servers of Firebase (Google LLC), which we use, or on the ranking server we operate.
- Identifiers
An anonymous user identifier issued automatically when the App starts (the Firebase Authentication user ID), and a 12-character alphanumeric user ID that the App displays. We never ask you to register information that identifies you on its own, such as your name, address or phone number.
- Linked account information (optional)
Only if you link an account: authentication information such as the email address of your Google account or Apple ID. If you chose to hide your email with your Apple ID, this is the relay address issued by Apple. Linking is optional, and every feature of the App works without it.
- Information used for the ranking
Your display name, best score, number of stages cleared, and profile image (if you set one). As described in Article 3, these are shown to other users on the ranking screen. Setting a display name and profile image is optional.
- Information we keep so you can move devices (optional)
Only if you link an account, we store the following in Cloud Firestore so it can carry over to a new device: your game progress (current stage, points earned, best score per stage, tries used), display name, music volume, remaining purchased shots, the storage location of your profile image, and the stages you made and the stages you received from other users. If you do not link an account, none of this is sent.
- Advertising identifier
The App shows video ads (rewarded ads). To serve ads, count impressions and prevent fraud, your device's advertising ID (the Android Advertising ID / AAID, or on iPhone the Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA, only if you allow tracking), device information such as the model and OS version, and records of ads shown and watched are sent to the ad network.
- Information collected automatically during communication
Service providers may automatically record communication logs such as your IP address as part of the communication above. The ad network may estimate your approximate region from your IP address. The App never collects location information from your device's GPS or similar.
1-2 Information stored only on your device
The following is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers.
- Gameplay information — current stage, points earned, best score per stage, tries used, remaining purchased shots
- Data you create — stages made in the stage editor and stages received from other users
- Settings — app settings such as your display name and music volume
If you link an account, the above is also stored on our servers as item 4 of 1-1 (so it can carry over to a new device). Without linking, it stays only on your device.
Information used for the ranking (item 3 of 1-1) is sent whether or not you link an account.
The App does not access your location, contacts or microphone. It opens your device's photo picker only when you set a profile image (it reads only the one photo you choose and does not access any others).
The camera is used only to receive a stage from a QR code shown by another user. Scanning happens entirely on your device, and we never store images or video, or send them to us or anyone else.
Article 2 (How we use information)
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- To provide the App's features (saving game progress, showing records, making and saving stages)
- To identify users and let them keep their user ID when changing devices
- To provide account linking
- To provide and manage content bought through in-app purchases
- To show ads, measure their effectiveness and prevent fraud
- To prevent and respond to misconduct
- To respond to enquiries
Article 3 (Information shown to other users)
The App's ranking screen shows the following to all other users.
- Display name (your 12-character user ID if you have not set one)
- Best score
- Number of stages cleared
- Profile image (if you set one)
Your real name and email address are never shown to other users. Do not put anything you would rather keep private in your display name or profile image. Both are optional, and you can change or remove them in the App at any time.
In addition, only when you use the feature to hand a stage you made to another user by QR code, the content and name of that stage go to the person who receives it.

Article 5 (Disclosure to third parties)
We do not provide the information we collect to third parties except in the following cases.
- With your consent
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
Article 6 (Where and how long information is stored)
- The information in Article 1, 1-1 is stored on the servers of Firebase (Google LLC) or on the ranking server we operate (a rented server in Japan). Cloud Firestore data is stored in the Tokyo region (asia-northeast1).
- The information in Article 1, 1-2 is stored only on your device.
- All of it is deleted by the deletion option in the App (Article 8). Data on your device is also deleted when you uninstall the App.
- If you link an account, your game progress, records, display name, profile image, and the stages you made and received (up to 100 of each) carry over.
- If you do not link an account, your game progress cannot be carried over. Your game progress is stored only on your device, so it cannot be recovered once you delete the App.
- Data on our servers is kept for as long as needed for the purposes above, and is deleted when you delete it or when we decide to.
Article 7 (Security)
We take reasonable security measures to prevent the information we collect from being leaked, lost or damaged.
Article 8 (Your choices and deletion requests)
- Setting a display name or profile image, and linking an account, are optional. Every feature of the App works without them.
- You can delete all of your data from “Settings → Account → Delete account and all data” in the App. This also deletes your account and identifiers on our servers. For details, see Deleting your account and data.
- For any other requests about how your information is handled, please contact us at the address in Article 12. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Article 9 (Ads)
- The App shows video ads (rewarded ads) as one way to get more tries. Watching ads is optional. You can keep playing without them by restarting from Stage 1.
- Ads may be tailored to your interests. If you do not want this, you can stop the use of your advertising ID as follows.
- iPhone: When you first launch the App, you are asked whether to allow tracking. If you do not allow it, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) is not sent. You can change this later under “Settings” → “Privacy & Security” → “Tracking”.
- Android: You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (“Settings” → “Privacy” or “Google” → “Ads”; the names vary by device and OS version).
- If you do not allow tracking or delete your advertising ID, you will still see ads, but not ads based on your interests.
- In the EEA (European Economic Area), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent to use information for serving and measuring ads through Google's User Messaging Platform when you first launch the App. You can change your choice at any time from “Settings → Other → Ad privacy settings” in the App.
Article 10 (Minors)
If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent of your parent or guardian. Before making an in-app purchase, please obtain the consent of your legal representative (parent or guardian).
Article 11 (Changes to this Policy)
We may change this Policy when necessary. For important changes, we will give notice in a clear way, such as a notice in the App.
Article 12 (Contact)
For questions about this Policy or how user information is handled, please use “Contact us” in the App or the contact details below.
